Housing Crisis Needs Everyone, Everywhere, All At Once

What could 12.75 million labor hours do for the housing shortage? Jennifer Castenson asked housing leaders that question in her latest Forbes piece on the collaboration it will take to close the supply gap, and our CEO and Co-Founder Vikas Enti answered with a production plan: “Reframe would use the 12.75 million labor hours to produce about 4 million square feet of missing middle housing every year with our microfactories.”

Reaching that throughput would mean commissioning eight microfactories across the country, with remaining resources going toward land and construction financing. It reflects how we think about scale: a regional network of microfactories powered by software, robotics, and physical AI, delivering more homes in the communities where people want to live.

Castenson’s piece makes the case that the housing crisis will take every lever at once, with federal programs, industry coalitions, manufacturers, and builders each doing their part. Our part is building the engine for housing abundance.
