Reframe Raises Funds to Bring Amazon Robotics Know-How to Home Building

The Information’s Rocket Drew covered Reframe Systems’ latest $40 million financing round and our approach to applying AI and robotics to one of the country’s most immediate challenges: building more housing, faster. The new funding will support our expansion across North America, including a second Massachusetts microfactory designed to produce up to 500 multifamily units or 250 single-family homes annually.

That expansion builds on growing commercial momentum. Reframe currently has $15 million in bookings and plans to deliver another 114 housing units over the next 12 months, scaling a system built to make housing delivery more repeatable, efficient, and adaptable.

Our founders brought experience from Amazon Robotics to homebuilding with a simple idea: use software, robotics, and regional manufacturing to solve a practical problem at scale. Energy Impact Partners’ Anil Achyuta described Reframe as doing for housing what Amazon did to standardize systems for rapidly delivering what customers wanted, while maintaining the flexibility to serve different housing types and needs.

We’re already seeing what that can mean for homeowners. In Altadena, California, Jonathan Talbot watched his new Reframe home take shape in a single day after losing his previous home in the Eaton Fire. “It was a very emotional day,” he told The Information.

As our CEO and co-founder Vikas Enti put it, “The housing shortage is an abstraction until you're the person who can't find a home in the community you want to live in.” This funding, our growing pipeline, and the expansion of our manufacturing capacity are the next steps toward building housing as a system, not a series of one-off projects, and our goal of delivering 1 million homes by 2040.
